I should have bought that balaclava. Alright, alright, time to quit the whining\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Shoes tied, Garmin satellites located, ipod on\u2026annnnnnd go.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m tired. I shouldn\u2019t have stayed up so late watching the Bachelor.\u00a0 That Tierra girl is Ka-raaaazy! How far do I have to go today?\u00a0 Only 4 miles, but that seems so far right now.\u00a0 1, 2, 3, 4. \u00a0And I\u2019m at\u2026where?\u00a0 .17, I haven\u2019t even gone a quarter of a mile yet.\u00a0 Why do I feel so sluggish?\u00a0 Who put lead in my shoes?\u00a0 I am going so sloooow.\u00a0 What is wrong with me?\u00a0 I wish Farrell could have run today.<\/p>\n<p>Why in the world is this song on my ipod?!\u00a0\u00a0 Let\u2019s skip to the next one.\u00a0 Nope, not this one either. Skip. Skip. I really need to update my playlist.\u00a0 Maybe I should go home and do that now, and try again with the run later\u2026Oh, wait, here\u2019s a good one.\u00a0 Who doesn\u2019t love a little Destiny\u2019s Child?<i>\u00a0 I\u2019m a survivor, I\u2019m not gon give up, I\u2019m a survivor, keep on surviving<\/i>\u2026That\u2019s right, sing it Beyonce. I AM a survivor.\u00a0 I can totally do this. \u00a0If I can survive all the junk in my life, surely I can survive 4 little miles.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t even really feel that cold anymore. I still can\u2019t really feel my face, but hey, I\u2019m already a half mile gone.<\/p>\n<p>I love these gloves, but today the Ulti-mitt doesn\u2019t seem so ultimate.\u00a0 Ulti-mitt my\u2026Oh look, Deer!\u00a0 Sweet.\u00a0 That never gets old.<\/p>\n<p>OMG, did I really just sign up for another full marathon?\u00a0 What was I thinking? \u00a0I have way too much going on right now to train for another 26.2, maybe I should sell that bib on Ebay and just sign up for a half\u2026or maybe a 5k.\u00a0 But, I do kind of like the bragging rights when I finish a 20 mile training run.\u00a0 And I for sure like the Bling.\u00a0 And there is absolutely nothing better than the feeling of crossing the finish line, knowing that I went the distance and I laid it all on the line.\u00a0 Ok, yeah, I\u2019ll keep my bib.\u00a0 But I\u2019m just gonna do this marathon for fun, run with Steve just cause it\u2019s his birthday.\u00a0 No pressure on myself this time to PR or BQ, just go out and enjoy a nice, lovely day on the west coast of Canada, sees some sights, and\u2026Oh, who am I kidding?!\u00a0 I don\u2019t know how to take it easy on race day!\u00a0 It\u2019s Go Hard or Go Home.\u00a0 Balls to the wall!\u00a0 Ooooh, was that my Garmin beeping? \u00a0I guess I\u2019m already at the turn around point\u2026but, well this isn\u2019t so bad, I guess I\u2019ll go another half mile, that\u2019ll top me out at 5 for the day and then I can dive into that pint of Ben &amp; Jerry\u2019s in the freezer.\u00a0 Woo-hoo!<\/p>\n<p>I need to hit the grocery store later.\u00a0 I think I\u2019ll make that healthy choice chicken chili for dinner, so I\u2019ll need to get an onion and I think I still have some garlic, but how long have I had that?\u00a0 Does Garlic go bad? What else?\u00a0 I\u2019ll check the recipe when I get back.\u00a0 Who gave me that recipe?\u00a0 Oh, right, it was Steph.\u00a0 Whoa, I haven\u2019t seen that girl in ages! I need to call her, I wonder what she\u2019s up to these days\u2026Oh, crap, I went another full mile!\u00a0 I gotta turn around or I\u2019m gonna be totally late to pick up the kids from school.\u00a0 I really hope they don\u2019t have tons of homework tonight, I don\u2019t think I have it in me to force E to sit still.<\/p>\n<p>Oh man, I\u2019m back to this hill.\u00a0 Did I really just run down that?\u00a0 I don\u2019t remember having a nice downward slope, but Geez-o-Pete it\u2019s steep goin back up.\u00a0 Ok, here we go, I can do this.\u00a0 Just keep putting one foot in front of the other.\u00a0 Steady, steady, steady.\u00a0 This is hard, really hard, maybe I should walk a few steps. C\u2019mon, Linds, you don\u2019t walk. Get up this thing!\u00a0 Almost there, but I want this be overwith and it\u2019s just not happening fast enough.\u00a0 I\u2019ve always said the hardest part about running hills is that you can only see how far you still have to go and not how far you\u2019ve come. Maybe I should post that as my Facebook status later. Man, I\u2019ve come a long way. \u00a0I\u2019ve been through a lot, but I\u2019m a beast. \u00a0I\u2019m a conqueror. \u00a0I\u2019ve got this!\u00a0 Yes!\u00a0 I did it! I powered up that crazy monster of a hill.\u00a0 I can do anything! \u00a0That\u2019s right, R. Kelly, I am the World\u2019s Greatest! \u00a0I think I want to try skydiving\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Oh yeah, I\u2019m cruisin\u2019 now.\u00a0 Only a mile left to go.\u00a0 Funny how I started out shooting for 4, but I\u2019m going to end up at 6.\u00a0 Oh look, there\u2019s the old guy in the 80\u2019s wind suit, I\u2019m gonna pass him.\u00a0 Yeah, that\u2019s right, look at me, I\u2019m sooo fast.\u00a0 Ok, so he is about 90 years old, but whatever, I passed someone.<\/p>\n<p>I still need to book my hotel in Vancouver. I\u2019ll have to get that info from Steve later. \u00a0I wonder if there are any really tough hills out there, I still need to look at the course map. And at some point I need to start thinking strategy.\u00a0 I know I need to do more speedwork.\u00a0 Yuck. \u00a0I hate Speedwork.\u00a0 It hurts, but it\u2019s so effective.
